Soundview Design was started in 1980 in Seattle, Washington, by David Marty as David Marty Design. For several years David shared space with Springs Printing and Good Word Typesetting on Lower Queen Anne. Drawing tables and T-squares were standard equipment. In 1988, David relocated the business to Edmonds, Washington. Shortly thereafter he made the switch to computers, and has never looked back.
Soundview Design has purposely remained small because we enjoy the active process of design as well as the one-on-one working relationships with our clients, many of whom have been with us for years. For several of these we provide ongoing brochures, ads and newsletters. Some of our best collaboration work has been with marketing firms and writers. We also have specialized in book and cover design with a variety of publishers.
